On thought attachments

November 24, 2018

I’ve had some epiphanies over the past few days about how attached I’ve become to our van, but also how I’ve forced some attachments. Since moving into it I kinda felt that to be a ‘proper vanlifer’ (whatever that is) we had to sleep in the van every single night. To sleep in a house was some sort of treachery to the cause. Now that I’m aware of it, it’s a bit ridiculous really, but this is one of those thought processes that does not enter the conscious awareness straight away, it just kinda simmers beneath the surface, affecting decisions without me being fully aware of it. It’s a strange feeling when the realisation begins to dawn – and it does dawn slowly but inevitably, that I love the van, and this nomadic lifestyle, but it’s still perfectly ok to take time out (especially after traumatic incidents), in a house, to recalibrate and make new plans before heading back out on the road. One more night in a house with a hot shower tonight and I intent to make the most of it – this lifestyle definitely makes me appreciate all the little, lovely things in life instead of taking the world for granted. #leaveitallbehind #ontheroad #travellers #lifeofadventure #wearewild #slowlife #slowliving #liveauthentic #wanderlust #fulltimevanlife #liveauthentic #exploretocreate #poetlife #creativelife #traveller #explorer #vanlifeeurope #european #digitalnomads #vanlifemoment #vanlifediaries #homesiswhereyouparkit #alternativeliving #tinyliving #livingsmall #minimalist #minimalistliving #vanlife
