The Return

July 28, 2019

Returning to Cymru, the land of my birth, has been a different experience this time around. We’re better at travelling in the van. Old skins have been sloughed off, new dreams have been forged in other lands; but still Cymru calls. I am surprised at how she catches me off guard, how deep this soul-filled love for one relatively small part of our expansive earth is. There is something special in the people here, in their generosity & openness that perhaps I’d taken for granted in past lives played out over Welsh rock & waves. Travel is teaching me how better to connect with new friends & old, I am becoming (slightly) less awkward, feeling more confident in my skin, with my work; perhaps feeling I have something worthwhile to contribute to the world again, so filming some new pieces recently felt good. Strange how it’s taken going away to make me better at being present.

I’ve posted a new chapter of work on here which includes a photo diary by Andy Garside of some beautiful filming locations with Pete from Culture Colony, more photos on our recent trip to Hudson’s Garden, and also two go-to veggie/vegan sauces for when I just want to make the last of the veggies in the fridge taste good and can’t think what to do. Link here for Patreon page where you can show this poet some love for as little as $1 a month and get a heaploads of gratitude (and work) in return ❤️???
